4-day bridge course for WAFA-certified providers seeking full WFR certification. Picks up where WAFA leaves off.
Already hold WAFA? The WFR Bridge gets you to full WFR certification in 4 days instead of 7. This 36–40 hour course covers the content that distinguishes WFR from WAFA — it does not repeat what you already know.
Day 1: Registration; Review of pre-course study packet; Patient Assessment System; Circulatory and respiratory systems; PAS drills; Basic Life Support (Healthcare Provider-level CPR)
Day 2: Quiz and case studies; Nervous system; Spine management; Musculoskeletal injuries; Lifts, moves, and extrications; Splinting; Assessment drills
Day 3: Thermoregulation; Environmental emergencies; Wounds and burns; Wilderness pharmacology; Allergies and anaphylaxis; Improvised carries; Assessment drills
Day 4: Case study review; Extended rescue scenarios; Written and practical exam
Typical schedule: mornings devoted to lecture and discussion; afternoons to outdoor practical skills and patient assessment scenarios. Expect made-up victims and simulated wounds — the scenarios are designed to stress-test your decision-making, not just your technical skills.
Current WAFA certification (WMAI or equivalent).
