Off-road Recovery 201 (Advanced)

2-day advanced recovery for experienced off-roaders. Winching, high-angle rigging, multi-vehicle scenarios, and complex extractions in terrain that beats basic gear.

Off-road Recovery 201 (Advanced)

Recovery 201 assumes you know the basics. This 2-day course puts you into scenarios where the basics aren't enough — non-functioning wheels, steep-grade winching, deep mud, and multi-vehicle coordination where communication and rigging precision matter.

What You'll Cover

  • Advanced winching: double-line pulls, snatch blocks, and redirect anchors
  • High-angle and steep terrain recovery techniques
  • Recovery in sand, mud, snow, and rock — what changes and why
  • Multi-vehicle coordination: roles, signals, and rigging sequences
  • Equipment inspection and failure analysis: know before it breaks
  • Risk assessment and go/no-go decision making in complex situations

Scenarios

Scenario-based training throughout. Expect non-functioning wheels, vehicles on slopes, multi-point rigging problems, and situations where you have to engineer a solution with what you have on hand.

Prerequisites

Recovery 101 or equivalent documented field experience. If you've been doing recoveries for years but haven't taken a formal course, contact us — we can talk through whether 201 is the right entry point for you.
